What is a Syndication?
A syndication is a partnership of general partners and limited partners. The general partners assume both the unlimited liability and management responsibilities. The limited partner's risk is limited to their actual MultiFamily Investing amount.
What is a Limited Partner?
A limited partner, also known as a silent partner, is an investor and not a day-to-day manager of the business. The limited partner's liability cannot exceed the amount that a person invested in the business. A limited partnership by definition has at least one general partner and one limited partner. The SEC defines an accredited investor as a person with an annual income exceeding $200,000 or $300,000 jointly with the expectation of earning the same or a higher income in the current year. A sophisticated investor is a classification indicating someone has sufficient capital, experience and net worth that makes them eligible for certain benefits and opportunities.
